While some guests have expressed disappointment regarding the availability of the six-course tasting menu during summer months, many rave about their experiences with the à la carte options. Dishes such as monkfish liver and dentex fish showcase not only the chef’s skills but also a narrative of culinary passion and innovation. The attention to texture and presentation is commendable, making meals not just delicious but also a feast for the eyes.
Let’s not forget the famed paella, which patrons describe as “rich and authentic.” Flavors are harmoniously layered, making it impossible to leave without feeling fully satisfied. Add an attentive staff ready to recommend the best wine pairings, and you have a memorable dining experience.
Agua de Mar stands out for its prime location and the vibrant ambiance that complements the vibrant cuisine. Whether you are seeking a romantic dinner or a lively night out with friends, this restaurant captures the essence of Spanish coastal dining. Make sure to keep an eye out for the spectacular views, as they are as much a part of the experience as the food itself. Certainly, a visit to Agua de Mar should be on your gastronomic agenda when in Denia!
“ We were recommended this restaurant at Bodega Benjamin(another great place in town) so we decided to try it out. So glad we did because it was just great!! Our waiters were all friendly and helpful. The restaurant is located at the port at the first floor so you get a good view of sunset. They first gave us the complimentary gazpacho and some marinated white fish which were both very nice. My starter was monkfish liver and main was some fish called dentex. I was very satisfied with my options, so were my two companions with theirs. They definitely put in the efforts into their dishes and try to be creative with their food, which all seems to turn out delicious. It’s a great place if you look for a good night-out. ”
“ Nice view of marina. We were the only people in this place, though the lower priced place next door was packed. Amuse bouche of croquetas were fried, bland and gooey, just like everywhere in Spain - crunchy outside, creamy inside, but wanting in almost every other way (these had salt, though!); Tuna tartare was really just a poke, though wasabi pearls were great and it was wonderful to have some sesame oil after a multi month abstinence - it was an attractive presentation and good quality tuna; House special of mixed fish soup had lots of fish/shellfish variety and little to no salt. Pricey, pretentious, boring, and pretty. ”
“ The food speaks for itself and was genuinely delicious (definitely worth holding out for the dessert). It’s worth eating here, and the environment is lovely. However, the first page of the menu offers a six-course tasting menu that looked really exciting. But when we went to order, we were told it’s not actually available during the summer months—you can’t order it until next month (September). Apparently, the manager wants to showcase what the restaurant can do, but it’s misleading and frustrating that you can’t actually order it, especially when it’s prominently displayed on the menu. They don’t tell you this until you’ve already decided what to have, which is really disappointing! ”
“ Enjoying the best paella with a stunning view—what more could you ask for? The flavors were rich and authentic, perfectly cooked. The staff was attentive and always ready with great recommendations, making the experience even better. A must-visit for great food and an amazing atmosphere! ”
“ We had a wonderful experience at Agua de Mar! We were greeted warmly at this elegant restaurant, which offers the best seating in Dènia. You can choose to sit indoors in the air conditioning or outside by the harbor or seaside to enjoy the refreshing breezes. The food was excellent; I had a generous portion of red tuna tartare, while my husband tried a new fish called 'dentón'. The staff were very attentive, and we were treated to a complimentary appetizer and dessert. It was a lovely experience, and we will return. ”
“ We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Agua de Mar Denia. The food was flavoursome and cooked to perfection — every dish was a delight, but the standout was without a doubt the bacalao meloso rice, which was rich, perfectly balanced, and superb in every way. A special mention must go to the staff — professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and truly elevated the entire experience. The service was seamless and added a personal touch that made our visit memorable. The quality-to-price ratio is excellent, especially considering the high standard of both the cuisine and the service. We’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommended!! ”
“ Excellent location with stunning views. Perfect service level. We really enjoyed the fish menu, will revisit and probably go a la carte as just too much for us. One of my favourite new finds and better than a number of much more expensive places. The chef has real skills. ”
